Day Trips, Tours & Travel

Day Trips: We occasionally sponsor trips to area food manufacturers and producers, winemakers, markets, food lectures, and nearby food and wine festivals. Sometimes when the itinery is within walking distance or at one location, we meet at one location, while other times we provide a coach. Watch here and in our E-nnouncements for new day trips!

Tours: Walking tours and coach tours are both offered. Some neighborhoods in Chicago and the suburbs offer a walking ethnic market tour, while others require a coach for getting around. Sometimes we even combine architecture, food and art. But, always food!

Travel: How do your learn from the best chefs around North America? We're beginning to offer our USA Regional Weekend Cooking Trips to learn local foods from some of the best. We will fly out of Chicago on a Thursday afternoon and return on Sunday evening. When we arrive at our hotel we'll participate in a short wine and cheese party and meet our three executive chefs and restaurant owners. The next three days we'll participate in a 3-hour cooking class at each restaurant. We'll return that evening to each restaurant and enjoy a wonderful dinner and companionship. We'll also take at least one local culinary sidetrip. Air transportation, coach transportation to and from the hotel and classes, Thursday party, sidetrip, and cooking classes are included. Dinners and drinks are not included. Seats will be limited to 12 persons. Cost per person will vary with each location and will fall between $850 and $1,000.
